Stop Telling Yourself these 7 lies
Every day, we tell ourselves lies. We tell ourselves that on Monday we will begin eating perfectly. Even though we haven't lived with our parents in 20 years, we blame them for our current financial mess.
Perhaps we believe that if only we had a pool, we would finally be content and that our contentment would last forever.
All of these are lies we tell ourselves.
The most damaging lies of all are the ones you tell yourself:
1. It's fine if I buy it now because I can pay it off next month. It is a serious offense to purchase anything using debt. It's simple to convince oneself that you won't eat out for 30 days or that you will brown-bag your lunch for the month. However, it appears that we rarely keep these promises.
? Debt has a great deal of potential to accumulate. Debt should be avoided as much as possible.
2. Monday is my first day. It is a lie to promise yourself that you will begin on Monday, regardless of the undertaking—a diet, a budget, an exercise plan, or anything else. Naturally, Monday might not be your prefe 3. My parents alone are to blame. There are, without a shadow of a doubt, some bad parents. However, you have had numerous chances to get your life back on track. Your future is limited when you attribute your present circumstances to the past. There are many things you can do today to improve your life. 4. Everything would be perfect if I only had _____. When you think you have everything you need to live a "perfect" life—money, body, job, etc.—you'll probably find something else you just have to have. There is always something else in the way of what you want right now.rred day. The first of the month or the first of the year is really preferred by some people.
? Start it now if it is even remotely worthwhile.
5. I'm not like everyone else. Many people are under the impression that something is wrong with them. And it's not just a problem with them; it's a problem only they have.
? Despite the fact that everyone is unique, there are far more things that people have in common than they do not. You aren't that different, and it's unlikely that you have a problem that can't be fixed.
6. For me, it is too late. In some cases, it may already be too late. But many things can still be done. While waiting longer than necessary may result in a number of inconveniences, it is not the same as being late. It just means that you'll have to put in more effort or deal with more problems.
? Waiting incurs a cost, but it is rarely insurmountable.
7. It is not the right time. The timing has never been perfect, and it will never be. Now is the time to do it. The longer you wait, the longer the delay will be. You won't live forever, and life never goes according to plan. Simply do it.
In order to feel better, we tell lies to ourselves. When we reassure ourselves that we will begin losing weight on the first of the month, we are free to eat poorly up until that point. In order to persuade ourselves that our difficulties are not our own, we attribute them to other people.
The lies you tell yourself prevent you from moving forward in your life and make you your own worst enemy. Give yourself a chance and be open with yourself.
